PREMIUM MANGO PRODUCTION

We buy mango from farmers upon the quality and stage of the fruits. If the fruits are very good skin at the small fruiting stage, we contract with farmers for wrapping to have a golden yellow mango and exporting fresh ripe for consumption. If too much rain affects the skin of mango at fruiting stage, we keep the mango unwrapped for green mango. Green mango first grade for crispy sour sweet consumption while the next grade for factory processing. We contract with farmers for technical production support with a standard production guiding then a buy back negotiation before harvesting. The process from starting the pruning to harvesting, we conduct training, technical assistant, and market solution at the end.

At technical side, we cooperate with Ministry of Agriculture for training support to farmers and registration for Cam GAP certification. We also do cooperate with development program such as USAID and Swiss Contact to support farmers with technical production standard and market. We conduct training on mango off season production to farmers in all important mango production area. After the training, our technical team visit farms for on farm training and technical assistant. Some important stages including: pruning, fertilizer application, applying off season flowering, pest and disease control, flowering and fruiting maintenance, etc.

SAFETY FOODS

Between 2017 and 2018, Cambodian farmers became victims of a sharp drop in pork prices, and local traders did not want to buy the pigs from our farmers because the prices of pigs imported from Vietnam were too low and sold under the market prices. That is why pig farmers are very worried and they lose a lot from feeding animals, especially pigs.

By seeing the difficulties and challenges of Cambodian farmers and responding to the vision to making food secure and available for people on our planet, Angkor Green has created a competitive market for farmers. We have been actively involved in the purchase of pigs by local farmers which produce with safety standards on a price higher than their production costs, and we have brought pigs to our slaughterhouse, safe transportation to the market, and sell in a hygiene environment in order to help improve food safety and hygiene to the people of Phnom Penh with our AG Food project.
